Dr. Saifedean Ammous, esteemed author of the influential book “The Bitcoin Standard,” has assumed the role of economic adviser to the National Bitcoin Office of El Salvador.
On May 30, the Office officially announced the addition of the Austrian economist to its team, entrusting him with advising on various economic policies.
Dr. Ammous’ seminal work, “The Bitcoin Standard,” made its debut in April 2018. The book provides a comprehensive exploration of Bitcoin, analyzing its role as a solid store of value amidst the transition from traditional assets to inflated currencies. Delving into the history of money, it illuminates how civilizations have evolved alongside their monetary systems.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Dr. Ammous took to Twitter on May 30 to share his excitement about working in “the first country to adopt a Bitcoin standard!”
